How do i get 1080 pixel instead of 1080i and will there be a noticeable differance in the plcture.?

I have 1080i on panasonics and the picture is great. Just wondering if i can do this somehow and make the pictures better.

    1080i (interlace) is the standard for HDTV cable and broadcasting......Only 1080p (progressive scan) is better, but only available with a Blu Ray DVD player or a PS-3...

    Nothing really that you can do. 1080p is way better. 1080i is almost the same as 720p.
