My wireless card will not connect to any networks?

I have had this issue with two different cards now and I do not know what is going on. My wireless card seems to be functioning just fine, however it is listed as being disconnected and cannot be used to connect to my wireless network.

I am using...

TP-LINK brand TL-WN851ND wireless card

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Zyxel PK5000Z router provided by Century Link

Under device manager the card shows up without any error messages

- through device manager I have attempted to update drivers which it says are all up to date

The card came with a small utility program I installed

- the utility opens when Windows starts up and always lists all available networks in the area, including mine.

- when I put in my password for my wireless it thinks a little while then says the password may be incorrect (I have checked numerous times to make sure my password is correct.

The card itself has a small green indicator LED which is always solid green

In the notifications section of my taskbar, the icon for the card and utility is shown but it is greyed out and when I hover over it, it says it is disconnected.

I have removed and reinserted the card as well as uninstalled and installed the software for the card and neither of these had any effect.

I thought initially it was my old card, which did the exact same thing. However, after replacing it with my current card, which I purchased brand new, I have ruled out it is a card issue.

I am totally stuck. I have my computer on a wired connection for now but I would like to get the wireless working again so I can use my computer in the living room for streaming movies.

Update:

Everyone seems to be hung up on the password, which isn't an issue. I know what my password is, I have used that password to connect several other devices to my network without issue.

The problem, which is what I wish people would read and actually help me with; is that my wireless card is plugged in, the light is on, it shows up in device manager, but in the task bar it is listed as disconnected. While it says it is disconnected, it will not allow me to search for or connect to any wireless networks.

    You've entered incorrect information.

    1. Connect your computer to your router or modem.

    2. Log in (make sure that you are an administrator) , open wireless settings. Look at the entire Key again, making sure to note Capital letters and other (if any).

    2. Go to wireless connection and type the Key again, noting Capital Letters and anything else.

If this doesn't work, as the guy before me said, "Maybe the router is set for encryption that the laptop will not except. Try using WEP encryption."

The software is telling you that the key is incorrect. Why don't you believe it?

Connect your laptop to the router using ethernet cable, log in as router administrator and go to wireless settings. Check what the key actually is, noting capitals.

Go back to wireless connection and input key exactly, including captitals etc.

If this does not work maybe the router is set for encryption that the laptop will not except. Try using WEP encryption.

it is not important G router is backward nicely matched. like the latest N router is abg and n nicely matched. a million of two issues the two you're actually not confiqured wisely or the cardboard might desire to be undesirable. If the icon is exhibiting an entire variety of sign power then you definately might nicely be attempting to hook up with a associates community. style interior the routers password and contact YOUR community then you definately comprehend for particular which you're connecting on your community and not somebody elses. it relatively is Password risk-free

have u tried calling your internet service provider? I used to work for an internet service provider. And when its two or more computers having an issue, it sometimes lead to the gateway or modem or router. we might need to change it from WEP to WPA-PSK or the either way. So that your computer will not disconnect.
