Good, affordable sewing machines?
I want to get back into sewing, but I can't afford an expensive machine. What is a good, inexpensive one I should look at? I'm not opposed to a used machine, either. Is this a good idea?

Personally, for new machines, I'd start looking with Janome and Juki.
If you're considering a used machine, do take the time to read Giordano's book and test out machines. FWIW, some of the best sewing machine hunting I've done has been at upscale retirement communities with thrift shops.
