How to reduce eye strain from constant computer use?
Hey guys.
My dad works for hours on end at home for his business on his computer.
For the past few weeks he's gotten stys constantly, and some got badly infected. His eyes are always red and he complains about headaches sometimes.
I want to get him something to reduce eyestrain. Maybe some monitor filters, some program that regulates lighting from the monitor, or eyewear to maybe help a bit.
It really hurts to watch him be miserable, especially now that he's getting older.
Thanks in advanced for the help! (PS. He already has medicated eyedrops from his doctor).

I have had this same problem, and you will be very happy with what I am about to tell you.
Firstly, I am a gamer, so I stay up late at night, staring at this horrid blue tinted blinding screen. Turning down the brightness doesn't help, and my eyes used to constantly hurt!
I found this program called F.lux. This program adds a sepia tint to your screen, intensifying as the day gets later. So by night time, there is a sepia tint that you cannot even notice, however your eyes do not hurt. It dulls the blinding white and completely eliminates eyestrain. This program is absolutely amazing, free and reliable. I installed it and it requires absolutely no maintenance or anything at all! All you do is install it, and the rest is done for you! I swear to god I am not lying!
I would like to say lastly that I am not a salesperson for this product, or anything similar. I just wish you the best, as someone suggested this to me way back and I am now proud to show it to you!

I REALLY hope I helped! Good luck.

Does he wear glasses? I wear them and I'm on the computer 24/7. I know how painful that can be. My eye doctor recommended that I put an "Anti glare" shield on my glasses. It makes it so that the monitor doesn't reflect light off my glasses, thus, easing the stress on my eyes from the screen. Let me tell you, at first I thought it was BS but when I brought my new glasses to my pc, I forgot all about the eye pain because it NEVER came back.
Well that worked from me. I don't know about your dad though I mean you could try it but if you say he's getting old...his eyes could just be going on him. It happens.

decorate his desk with something green.
For example, get a small green tree or something that fills his surroundings with green.
A simple green poster is fine too, but green really helps to reduce eye strain.
It may help if he change his wall paper to green too.
In Korea and other parts of asia, makes notebooks that are very light green for students who writes often to prevent extra eye strain.
