How to help my mom's self-confidence?
I'm 14 and my mom's in her late forties. She has rosacea(it's where you're blood vessels in your face get dialated which causes your face to get all red and flushed). For as long as I can remember, she will not go anywhere without putting some foundation on. She get's so self concious about it, and it IS noticable since it's so red but I'd never point it out. I know how much women care about their appearance and how much flaws can hurt your self-esteem. I feel bad for her but I don't know what to do. She doesn't feel pretty and she's flat out said it before. But she's got long blonde hair, blue eyes, and a great smile. So it's just the rosacea. Again though, it makes me so sad to think that she feels this way and I just want a way to help her out a bit with self esteem and all. So thanks in advance and hope you all have a good day!

I have rosacea too. She needs to go see a dermatologist. There are medications that help keep it under control so that it isn't such a problem. Mine is barely noticeable so long as I keep using the Metrogel. It does take a little while for the medications to work so tell her not to be discouraged.

Your mom is self conscious, which is understandable, but it's not something you have control over. You can tell her how attractive she is, but she won't believe you because you are her daughter (you would love her no matter how she looks, and you are too close to have an "objective" opinion).
You can do some research on rosacea to find out the latest treatments, diet suggestions, etc. to help her have some control over it. Rosacea is very common, and most people don't pay it much attention when they see someone who has it.
The most important thing is for your mom to spend some time doing things she enjoys doing. Then she won't be so focused on her appearance, and she'll feel good about the activity. When people are doing things that make them happy, their personality and exuberance make them naturally attractive, regardless of their appearance. That's when she will find that people don't judge her by the blood vessels under her skin, but by who she really is.

Hi There
Here are some testimonials that healed the issue.
TEA TREE OIL
Tea tree oil can help rosacea. Not sure if it can erradicate it completely, but it does help kill off the adult mites. You need to use it religiously, every day. (I use it several times a day!) Since the demodex mites keep reproducing you need to keep applying TTO to keep the next generation from growing into adults. For example, if you only apply it one time, say, you may kill some for that day but the lifecycle of these stubborn mites is about 15-20 days. Also, try not to wear foundation makeup during this time, you need to get this out of your skin! Also, don't "feed" the mites by applying any nutritional things such as coconut oil, and other vitamin-rich lotions. I'm still doing research but this is the best natural way I have found so far.
