My roommate is cheating on her significant other and I can't afford to move out? What is my next move?
Place your mindset in Vegas, because this is my town.
Of all the people who come to Vegas, most of them cannot make it in their own city so they find jobs here as a big fish in a little pond. However, as the economics of the city is what they say is attractive, I've come to realize it takes a special kind of person who really makes that leap. . .
The scummiest dirtbags with shallow mindsets not looking to settle down and cheat on their wives.
I see it all the time, or at least my roommate tells me about it. She has different names for them: "Married Man" "Neurologist", etc. She collects older men and is studying to be a nurse. I'm also a nursing student, and she is a grade ahead of me and she tells me all the answers to the tests which is why I moved in with her.
By living with her, I get the grade. And nursing school is a 50% failout (or at least at my school), so I greatly benefit living here.
However, all I can come up with is staying as far away from my roommates as possible. I am never home when they are home so I can avoid my female roommate talking about all her different men, while I am living with another male roommate who she allegedly loves to be around (moreso he is paying the rent, and for her school. He bought her a $2,000 engagement ring last week).
Obviously, she's a knockout. All the doctors drool over her and she gets her way around the hospital, which benefits me also because then I get to know all the in's-and-out's. In fact, I hang around with a stripper (who is also studying to be a nurse), because every time I'm around her, she gets to do all the special procedures because all the scummy doctors cater to hot women and never bother to look at me because I'm not full of sexual potential.
As you can see, I'm smart enough to hitch my wagon to get my own way in Vegas as I just don't have the physical sway over a female-dominated occupation where all the men hold the positions of power (not just doctors, but I've noticed all the charge nurses end up being male)
Really, I came on here to vent. But, here are a few questions to answer if you've enjoyed my Vegas story:
1) In your experience, should it be accepted that pretty women just get whatever they want in today's society (y'know, the old adage: don't marry a pretty woman)?
2) I know to move out to avoid all this chaos, and I'm already looking for a new roommate, but I always find myself with attractive females, who are especially chaotic. Part of me knows that I don't like purely beautiful women, but the especially femme fatale dangerous type that know how to play men. If I have this power to attract their attention and use it for my own benefit, am I purely an enabler to their chaotic situation, or does this make me equally guilty?
3) A large portion of myself feels it is my duty to let my genuinely good-hearted male roommate let him know of what's going on, but that threatens my livelihood. She's already out the door once she has her degree (she's just using him for his money). In your experience, what happens to these men who don't know about this dark-side? And what happens to the females who never learn to genuinely be with a person without having an ulterior motive? Please tell me they get their come-up-ins.
Thanks for allowing me to vent, I apologize for the logn post!
Thanks for all the responses! Please edit your own posts, too, so I can return the favor. It has really helped me that you answered my question.

Well Sorry I didn't read all of it and just the questions. I just got married and well I'd like to tell you I was considered quite pretty. The thing is its not easy being pretty. Most guys just wanna get in bed with you and don't genuinely like you. People stare at you like a slut. Guys have even tried to rape me so its not easy.

You ought to write a short piece on life in Vegas. The first two paragraphs were good. About your situation: It appears you're getting a good deal because your roommate is providing you with the answers so you can make the grade. In a sense, both of you are cheaters. Concentrate on your education. Yes, being a pretty woman has it's advantages, but beauty can only take you so far. These are different days and you hear about the dumb chick jokes all the time. It's brains and beauty that rule now. If you're a secure man, you won't judge a woman's worth by her looks. Bump up your self esteem. As for the roommate, mind your own business.

The biggest flaw in our thinking is to assume the constitution's words "we are create4d equal" means that "we are equal." All the founders meant was that we are equal before the law. Yes, better looking and smarter persons have an advantage. So, don't play their game. Find your own niche.

MYOB would be my best advice...
To answer your other questions:
1) Studies have shown that pretty people tend to get ahead more in life
2) Depends on the situation
3) MYOB - they like to shoot the messenger
