We are here to reflect God's glory though even the best do it somewhat poorly, I fear. Those of us who try to be faithful are challenged with testing times which, if we learn from them, will knock off our rough edges and, God willing, make us fit for the coming Kingdom when Jesus returns.

Why you? why me or anyone? Because we are told that the LORD God is calling out a people for His name and He does not wish to lose anyone. So if we are faithful and try our best to be obedient we are going in the right direction. As the Apostle Paul says, we are called to be saints. Not the sort of saints that men decide upon but those who God calls and chooses. May we be among that number.

We are here are earth because God gave us the wonderful gift of life. He allows us free will to choose to serve him, thereby having eternal life on a paradise earth. Psalms 37:29 states: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and the will reside FOREVER upon it." Ecclesiastes 1:4 "A generation is going, and a generation is coming, but the earth is standing to time indefinite." Psalms 104:5 "He has founded the earth upon its established places. It will not be made to totter even to time indefinite or forever."

Zephaniah 2:3 shows what kind of people God will favor with endless life on earth. "Seek Jehovah all you meek ones of the earth, who have practiced His own judicial decision. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah's anger."

Psalms 37:9, 11 "Those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth...The meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. "

Metaphorically: God's having made all us and watching and loving us is like US if we were to build and scale a train set. To get the boards and wood for frames, put together, make a hill if we want, lay down the tracks, buildings, animals,... Yet even after we are done and turn the train on, it will seem like it is going in circles; then it suddenly jumps th track!

  • We're only here because of biology. Just like the rest of the universe is here. There is no reason for us being here. We just exist. Why do you need a reason anyways? Why not just be thankful for your existence and have a good time with it?

We are God's creation, just like when he created the universe. He created it for worship and beauty and perfection.
