Question about meat............?

Ok, for health reasons, I have cut out all meat except for fish from my diet.. I've heard that if you don't eat meat for a while, eventually your body will get rid of the materials to break down it down.

So my questions is, does the body use the same materials to break down the meat as it does fish?

Yes. Fish is digested in the same way as other forms of animal protein.

Yes - fish muscles have the same proteins as mammal muscles. Actin and Myosin are the 2 most prevalent. The reason most fish are not red is they have a different oxygen carrying molecule and thus do not have a store of myoglobin that the mammal muscles have. The myoglobin is what gives meat its red color.

Humans are omnivores. You don't lose the ability to eat and digest meat.
