HELP-Question about prepaid iPhone with AT&T...?

Question

So I've had my iPhone on a prepaid plan with AT&T for a year now and it has worked great....until now.  I switched to the $25 monthly plan and was told I needed to buy a data feature package because the iPhone is a smartphone...I bought the $25 for 500 data plan so $50 in total.  However, right after I paid I was able to use my iPhone (call/text) except not use the data.  I went to the AT&T store and told the guy that I paid for the data (because themoney was taken out of my account) and that Im not getting an data in return.  He said that on his system it said that I DID have a data package attached to my line.  But it's been two days and I still can't use the internet anywhere other than wifi.

So I have two questions: First, does AT&T check their system to see who has an iPhone with a prepaid accound? and if so, is that why my data isn't working?? What a waste then.

Second, I'm kind of scared to go back because the guy wanted to see my phone but I wasn't sure if they would get mad if they had found out that I had an iPhone so I said I "forgot" it at home.  He told me to come back if the data was still not working but I KNOW he'll want to see my phone so that he can see if I really can't use the internet.  If I do tell him, will they confiscate it or something?

Any opinions or solutions? Thanks in advance.

Iphones have been giving their own data APN server.... which requires a special data plan and feature code in the system.... this plan and code is ONLY ON CONTRACT POSTPAID ACCOUNTS.... NOT PRE-PAID!!!!!!!

The data plan you have is mos likely a data plan for a basic feature phone... which uses a different APN server now and different feature code.... one that is not meant for iphones.... or androids... or blackberries... or palms... or windows...  ATT and VERIZON and Sprint and Tmobile got smart! LOL

This is why you have EL NADA INTERNETO... LOL And will NEVER have internet.. until you drop the prepaid stuff and get a real iphone plan.... 

btw... its a good thing you didnt show him the iphone... or else you would be in breach of Terms of Service and Conditions (thats not a contract---just an term your OK'd with the wireless carrier by getting thier prepaid/postpaid wireless services)and service be shut off ....

------------ no... keep the iphone... they will say """""you must be on a postpaid plan.. change now or we will  just terminate your account"""... your choice... option 1 or 2..... soo... how much you love service on the iphone? LOL

If I WERE YOU---- put it on tmobile prepaid... may be ALOT slower, but heh... you get internet! LOL LOL LOL
