What's the best snake for beginners?

I'm thinking corn or king but maybe there are others. Any suggestions from experienced owners?

A corn is a very great beginner snake and also ball pythons (are more timid and are recommended for advanced beginners) But are also great snakes. I have no experience with kings, so I can't really give you info on them. I've heard they make pretty good snakes. I own a 1 1/2 year old corn I had from a baby and a year old Ball Python also owned from a baby. They both are great and very simple to take care of. Either one of these I would recommend to you. I have noticed that Ball Pythons are timid and aren't very active while corns will move around in your hands and are pretty active. (my ball python will just sit in my hand) I've also heard milk snakes can make great beginner snakes.

I agree corn snakes are the best for beginners they are very cheap to purchase thy come in great colors have very small mouths so if they ever bite it is not painful and they are very easy snakes to keep. Ball pythons are great but can be difficult feeders. And have a worse bite than corn snakes.
