2 week old baby with lumpy gums ?

I'm a little concerned. This is my first child, he is 2 weeks old. Since he was born, I've noticed that his gums were not smoothe like most newborns but lumpy and weird looking. My mom told me that they look normal and no doctors have said anything to me about it ( I've never asked because it slips my mind at appointments) but I'm really looking at them now and I'm a bit concerned. Sometimes he bites on his hands but I take that as him being hungry since he is breastfed And eats more than a formula fed baby. Anyone knows about this? Or is this normal?

Its normal for babies to have two lumps on the bottom sides (a lump on each side) and the same thing with the top (a lump on each side). If its more lumpy than that he could be teething. Its rare so early but definitely not unheard of.

He could be teething early, which is not unheard of. Some babies are even born with teeth.
