Strootman to Man United?

So that's the latest rumour, albeit taken with more than a pinch of salt given the story originated from the Mirror.

United fans: Would you be happy with this guy for £15m? Is there someone else you would want for the "midfield ball-winner" role for a similar price tag?

To everyone: Is this guy any good? Seems to have a lot of promise, and is keeping De Jong out of the Dutch team!?

Update:

@JS - Kevin Strootman! Dutch holding midfielder currently playing for PSV Eindhoven! 22 Years Old.

Update 2:

@AI - I would agree with you about Anderson (although he started the season very well!), but I think Cleverley can still grow as a footballer and become a quality little player.

Yes that would be a good buy

He has got himself into the Netherlands starting 11 now and is seen as the successor to Mark van Bommel. He is having a good season and a move to the Premier League would not surprise me!

Cleverley and Anderson clearly aren't good enough!

I've just seen Strootman play in a couple of matches; obviously, it isn't enough to judge him as a player.

15 million pounds you say ?. It may seem a little steep for a Defensive Central Midfielder but I guess that's how things are nowadays.

Man Utd's Central Midfield, you know, I've been in two minds about this issue all season long. Tom Cleverley was like a breath of fresh air when the season began. I posted quite a few Q&As saying we didn't need to spend too much on a player like Sneijder; I said Cleverley should be allowed to grow as a player. Then came the damn injury problems. We sorely lacked someone who could control the proceedings in CM. It was then I realized that we do need a player to step in as a play maker. All this was before Scholes's return though.

I won't mind Strootman in the team provided we get another Central Midfield play maker. Defensive midfielders are good, but when Scholes does eventually retire, we're gonna need a good replacement.
