MORMONS: A question about the Book of Mormons?
I am curious as to what is the "Book of Mormon challenge." I read that some had read the book, then prayed to God, and God answered their prayer and showed them they found the truth.
I also have other questions. According to your beliefs: Who is Adam? Who was Eve? Who is Michael? Who is Jesus and who is Jehovah?
This question is purely for information, I am not trying to disrespect your belief and neither am I interested in becoming a Mormon.
Thanks!
Thanks for your answers.
You believe that Adam and Eve were spirits before coming to earth, and that all of humanity came from them. So as for all humans presently living on earth, did they have prior spiritual bodies?
If so, are all spiritual beings born with inherited sin? According to the Bible (Romans 5:12), because of Adam's sin, humanity was doomed to die and thus the need for Jesus' ransom sacrifice.
Also, who is Satan according to Mormon belief? Do you believe that he was the rebellious instigator that led Adam and Eve to sin?
@CAPTAIN: This is a serious question. No need to bash anyone's belief, be respectful. Please contribute something useful.
According to the Bible Dictionary under "Fall of Adam" in lds.org, it says that before sinning Adam and Eve had no blood, once they sinned then blood formed in their bodies. Based on this, then it would seem that blood is related to sin. But being that Jesus was born with blood, wouldn't that have made him a sinner at birth? How could he have provided a corresponding ransom? Also, why was the fall of Adam "a necessary step in the progress of man?" Wouldn't that make the Creator of all things, the Almighty God, responsible for all the wickedness in this world?

1. The challenge you referenced is basically as you described it. We believe that God will give us guidance to key religious questions. If the Book of Mormon is true asking him about it in prayer would be one of those questions. We believe he answers our prayers through the Holy Ghost. As referenced in the New Testament, the Holy Ghost is a messenger sent to teach us the truth of all things. We also believe that a casual request to Him for guidance is generally not sufficient to receive an answer. This is why part of our invitation to all people is to read the book, consider what it teaches (independent of what other people tell you both for or against it) and pray to God for an answer.
2. We believe God created all people spiritually before we were sent to Earth and received physical bodies. Adam is one of those spirits. He was also the first person to be sent to Earth.
3. Eve was also one of God's spirit children and was the first female sent the Earth. All of humanity came from them.
4. Michael was Adam before he came to Earth. As referenced above, he was one of God's spirit children just as we are all God's spirit children.
5. Jesus is at the core of our beliefs. First and foremost, he is our Savior because he freely allowed himself to be tortured and crucified on the cross for each of us. He also took upon himself the sins of all mankind. Without him we would be lost and fallen, unable to return to live with God after this life. In addition, Jesus is also one of God's spirit children just as we are all spirit children. Because of this relationship we view him as our brother. Furthermore, Jesus is the only begotten son of God because God was the creator or father of his mortal birth.
6. Jehovah was Jesus before his mortal birth.
Hope this gives you the info you are looking for.

I may not be able to answer all of your questions but there's one i can SPECULATE on. When Adam transgressed he had blood. I think the blood only represents death, and the reason Jesus had blood is because he COULD die not because he was a sinner, Remember god said if you eat the fruit you will die. Well, they ate the fruit and the blood represented that they were mortals. Of course blood is a representation of sin and it's also a representation of the atonement. A single symbol can represent many aspects.

The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ challenge...
is the challenge to read The Book Of Mormon Another Testament Of Jesus Christ,
and then pray sincerely about it to know whether it is true, and then to listen to the still small voice, and then God through the Holy Ghost will manifest the truth to you...
if you resolve to keep the commandments of Jesus Christ from then on.
Adam is the first man. Eve is the first woman. Michael is an Angel. Michael is also Adam. Jesus is the Son Of God. Jesus is God. To be the Son of God, is to be God.
Jehovah is Jesus. Before Jesus was born, Jesus was called Jehovah. That was when Jesus Christ was only a Spirit, like the Holy Ghost is only a spirit at the present time.
There is much truth in this Universe. Seek it, and you will find it.
Jesus Christ is the truth. And the truth is Jesus Christ.

That's basically the challenge. Read it, then pray with a sincere desire to know whether or not it is true, and God will answer your prayer. You will feel in your heart whether or not the book is true.
We believe the Adam and Eve most church's believe in. They were the first people God created, the ancestors of all children on the earth. They were kicked out of the garden of Eden.
Jesus is the savior and redeemer of the world, born in Bethlehem and suffering for our sins in the garden at Gethsemane and on the cross. He was resurrected. We also believe that after he left the disciples in Jerusalem, that he ascended down to other people in the world, to teach and bless them.
Jehovah is Jesus; I'm pretty sure Jehovah is another word for savior, or my lord.
Michael I'm not sure of. He's not a prominent figure in the gospel, but I think I may have read his name in the bible somewhere.
Thank you for being polite about the church. You may have noticed that other people aren't as kind. I hope that I cleared things up for you. :)

Mormonism teaches a 'no blood before Adam's Fall' doctrine, including no children or death in the pre-Fall Animal Kingdom.[1] Additionally, the Fall is described as a blessing in the Book of Mormon at 2 Nephi 2:22-5. The problem is that it presents blood as a product of Adam's transgression, yet Jesus had blood,[2] but he was free of the affects of Adam's transgression. (Luke 1:35; Hebrews 4:15) Therefore, what we have here may be called a soteriological contradiction, for Jesus was holy and sinless—he did not have any products of Adam's transgression, but Mormonism gives him just that, blood from Adam's transgression.
Source(s): [1] "Fall of Adam." http://lds.org/scriptures/bd/fall-of-adam?lang=eng... This is taught elsewhere too. [2] "Christ." http://lds.org/scriptures/bd/christ?lang=eng In order for Jesus to be the "last Adam" (1 Corinthians 15:45), he would have to be what Adam lost and voluntarily sacrifice that to be the ransom. Mormonism makes that impossible. _____________________ Mormonism Definition http://jimspace3000.blogspot.com/2011/01/mormonism... - 9 years ago
The "Book of Mormon Challenge" is given by the last prophet who wrote in the book. In Moroni 10:3-5 it reads: 3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how amerciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and bponder it in your hearts.
4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would aask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not btrue; and if ye shall ask with a csincere heart, with dreal intent, having efaith in Christ, he will fmanifest the gtruth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may aknow the btruth of all things."
In other words, read it, compare the doctrines to what you already know, then ask God if it is true.
According to The doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons), Adam and Eve were the first humans created and the parents of all mankind. They, as all of us, existed in heaven with spirit bodies before comming to earth to experience mortality. Due to Adam's transgression, we all must die, but, Jesus Christ made it possible to be resurrected and obtain a perfected body.
Satan, according to our belief, was Lucifer, a spiritual son of God, who rebelled and, among other things, tempted Eve and then Adam to eat the forbidden fruit.
Michael and Jehovah were the names of Adam and Jesus before thay were born into this world.

Ive actually neve heard of the BOM challenge, but its good to read the BOM.
ok adam and eve were first put in living with our Heavenly Father. Then satan tempted them to eat off the tree of good and evil. (satan was disguised as a snake) and then they were sent to earth as the first humans with that, they recieved bodies. From there, they reproduced and the world started.

Book of Mormon Challenge? Not really sure, you could Google it.
Adam though was the first of our Father in Heaven's spirit children born into this world. He is one in the same as Michael the Archangel. Eve was the first spirit female born into this world. Don't misunderstand that Christ is our eldest brother and first born of the Spirits, but He was not the first born into this world - obviously.
Jehovah typically refers to Christ, but may be used to refer to the Godhead. For clarity we use Jehovah to designate Christ when clarity is needed.

Mormon are almost as bad as you Jehovah's Witnesses but they do not ask people to die for them.
