Fluid buildup in ears causing speech delay?

My son has been having problems with his ears for a little while. 6 months. The fluid bold up caused a speech development delay cause he can't hear very well. We are trying another medication and last resort tubes. He also is going to have time with a speech therapist. He is perfectly normal in every other way. Has anyone else ever dealt with this? I'm hoping as soon as he can hear good, he will catch up quickly. He scored 20 out of 60 on the speech assessment and 60/60 on all else.

He sounds like he is on the right path, and with a patient mother like you I am sure he can reach a higher score if you keep working with him (ask your speech therapist what activities you can do at home or you can give his daycare to help improve his speech).

My daughter had a problem with her ears which affected her from hearing as good as she was suppose to! She had to eventually have tubes put in but now is as good as a whistle! Have you seen Ear, Nose and Throat dr?
