Is anyone else getting up set with the Y!A answer team?

It's like they don't even look at your repeal and throw it out and deduct your points.. I answered a question a few days ago and I got reported..

What was the question you ask? "what is 2+2??????????????????????"

My answer was fish... Why did I answer with fish? Because if you have to be at least 13 on here, you should know what 2+2 is.. 2+2 can be answered with both 4 and fish.. and I got reported..

I've been reported maybe 8 times and each time, it's like they don't look at my repeal. Though maybe 3/8 of those I was being stupid but the other 5 times I answered legitimately and they just threw me to the curb..

What do you think about this? Was that something to be reported for? Have you ever gotten reported for something you shouldn't have and they just ignored you?

    According to the Community Guidelines,

an answer must at least attempt to answer the question.

And "fish" is not a valid answer to the question "what is 2+2"

Someone must have reported your answer.

    Your solution?

    Always answer the question.

Had you said "the same as 6-2" then added "fish".

It would not be a reportable answer.

Because 6-2 is an attempt to answer the question.

It is nit-picking, Especially as thousands of answers don't answer the given question and most don't get reported.

I'm afraid you're wrong on what you're saying. After you make an appeal, there are people at Customer Care reading appeals all the time. They can decide to uphold or reverse the violation and send you an email on their final decision. In your case, you were reported for not properly answering another user's question and the answer was deleted as a result of the misuse of the Q&A format (a.k.a. "not an answer") violation. Even the appeal was not a very smart idea. Customer Care upheld the violation and you were charged 10 points for filing a false appeal. Case closed on this matter.

Since you've been reported multiple times, Customer Care reviewed your account and can suspend it without warning. Another report will warn you that your account is in danger of permanent suspension. Consider that as an early warning. Just read up on the Community Guidelines and stick to them at all times. Learn to know what's expected of you on Answers to ensure you don't get any more violations in the future.

    No, I'm not.

    It is appeal, not repeal.

Fish is not a valid answer to WHat is 2+2. You deserved to be reported.

I think you should read the guidelines and start following them (you agreed to when you signed up, after all) and accept responsibility for your own actions.

They aren't ignoring you, they are reaffirming that your posts were violations.

No, I have not been ignored.

IF you used an online appeal form, when you submit an appeal IT GOES TO CUSTOMER CARE, NOT AN ABUSE TEAM.

Did you actually APPEAL the violation, or did you whine about the people who reported your question/answer? I suspect that most appeals are denied because they really did not appeal the violation at all. They very likely are rants about the people who reported the question/answer, and there really is no appeal of the actual violation itself. When I appeal a supposed violation, I appeal the violation. I DON"T whine or rant about the people who reported my answer (I do not ask questions on YA) other than maybe saying that I can't control how any one else may interpret my answer (as a personal insult).

APPEALS DO NOT GO TO ABUSE TEAMS. THEY GO TO CUSTOMER CARE.

BEFORE you whine, I've been in many violation wars with trolls on at least four forums. MORE than 470 violations on a different YA account, and I won 90% or higher of my appeals. I've received violation notices on this account, and I've won more than 80% of those appeals as well. My trolls are trying very hard to get into another violation war with me, but that is not going to work this time. I understand how reporting abuse works on YA now.

You got reported for answering "fish" because you DID NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION THAT WAS ASKED DIRECLY. Maybe the question was violation of the Community Guidelines. If the question was a chat violation, answering the question with another chat violation does not negate that your answer violated the community guidelines. YES, that was something to be reported for. IF you want to get into violation war with other trolls GO RIGHT AHEAD, because ALL of you probably will end up with your YA accounts being suspended. ALL of us are both abusers and abuse victims when we get online, so please don't report my answer because you are personally insulted. I treat other people online like they treat me, and I try to do it without violating the community guidelines or the user agreement of that particular internet forum.

Digital communities have rules or laws. When you use your account to intentionally violate those rules/laws, you put your computer account with that particular internet hosting company. YA is unique in that the community members moderate the YA boards. NO Yahoo employee sends out violation notice emails. What happens when two or more YA members, or one top reporter, report a question or answer is that a COMPUTER PROGRAM is triggered that automatically sends a violation notice to your email inbox. When you submit the appeal, that goes to Customer Care, NOT AN ABUSE TEAM, unless there's URL at the very bottom of the short appeal form that indicates it is NOT going to Customer Care.
