Why is abstinence so important to certain religions, when their entire religion is based on abstinence failing?

    Not to mention that In Christianity God essentially committed adultery by impregnating Mary.

    More information is needed. I can't think of any religion that is based on abstinence failing.

    Don't try to make sense of it.

    Freud was right: Religion is itself a mental substitute for sex. Religious people are deeply sexually frustrated or devious, and projecting.
