Can you get furniture restored?

I have an oak dresser that is very beautiful but the drawers runners are worn. Are there good businesses out there that I can have come over and restore it for me, sand, re-stain, replace the drawer runners that are stripped?

I could check, but I am looking for someone who experienced having work done to their furniture and know who is a good company to look to to have this job done correctly. I don't want shoddy work done to it.

Update:

Yes, I can, but who can get it done? I see a lot of DIY stuff, I want to hire someone to do it for me.

I got my chairs restored at the Wood Doctor. But it's in Sydney, in Artarmon. So if you happen to be in Sydney I highly recommend him he does great work.

You could but it will be quite expensive....bare that in mind.

You really need a local firm or you will be for transportation costs on top of restoration. Try your yp directory or look in your local paper. Some local joiners might know someone who does old furniture restoration.

They don't make quality like they used to so it is worth restoring old furniture but can be expensive to do so.

    Good luck.
