Is it wrong to hold later career sins of an artist against their previous good work?
This is in reference to how...I kind of despise Against Me! and how they not only changed their style once they got signed to major label but also changed their sound and values. These moves have made me feel almost like their prior work was pandering, and disingeniousness. Should I just let this go and enjoy the Plan-It-X, Fat Wreck Chords, and No Idea stuff...or should I feel violated as a fan?

In all truthfulness, that's a question that can only be answered by you.
For me, yes, the old Metallica example. They totally sold out, insulted their fans and turned into the world's biggest, egotistical jerks on the entire face of the planet. For me, it pretty much ruined everything that they stood for. I honestly can't listen to any of their music with feeling like a complete chump.
The same pretty much goes for Megadeth, although I always knew that Dave had, lets say "serious issues", so, I guess there is still some early stuff that I can still listen to.
The first metal band that I ever listened to and liked as a kid was Twisted Sister. I even met Dee in person. Then I saw him on his own highly scripted reality show and recently -- on Celebrity Apprentice, brown nosing Donald Trump and exposing himself for the money-grubbing, prostitute that he is. I'm TRYING to not let it ruin his previous musical efforts...
The more I think of it, the more I realize that the more you relate and identify with an artist, the more disheartening it is when they get rich, famous and become a rotten, unlikable "celeb".
Maybe you can take it as a lesson on why you should NEVER, EVER become a "fan" of an entertainer, but rather "a casual observer".

I dunno, maybe not. Otherwise I'd never be able to enjoy Master of Puppets by Metallica, or any Beatles albums (because I'll be damned if Paul McCartney didn't make some worthless **** later on), etc. Every artist has their era, and when it's over, they can never seem to move on, so they just get more produced and more awful.
