  • Tips for doing barred stretches?

I have been playing guitar for about 2 years now and the hardest thing for me right now is stretching for chords when I am barring. It seems no matter how hard I try I can't seem to do anything past a 3 fret stretch. This really impedes my ability to play chords like B and alot of punk and drop D barred chords. Is their any advice on how I can approve my stretch, also I have small hands so would playing a 3/4th sized guitar help any/

  • Is SSD reliable enough to edit off of and use HDD for long term back?

I heard some rumors that Solid State Drives get worn down by video editing. Though like many tech rumors I don't think is true (remember back when people were scared about magnetic screw drivers, yet would touch a processor barehanded). I was thinking about doing SSD as my main harddrive on the next computer I get because their size is getting better and If I can get a 300+ gig SSD it'd be about as big as my current HDD in my current computer. I would probably have 2 HDD's for back up storage but I want a SSD for the speed (your computer is only as fast as it's storage)

  • Does Kid Rock deserve as much hate as he gets?

Okay rock and pop this is a stretch, but maybe Kid Rock isn't the worst artist of all time. I often see people hate on his music, and I think unfairly at that. I mean sure his songs are repetitive "I'm the best" or "I am having sex with hot women" anthems. Is there anything wrong with that? I mean its not overly sad depressed ballads like Nickleback and Creed. He is a lot smarter than Limp Biscuit and Hollywood Undead. Even now in the later part of his career where he is perusing country music, he isn't even nearly as debaucherous as the majority of modern pop country artists. My point is does he deserve AS much hate as he gets or is he rightfully a horrible artist

  • Help picking last two songs for my EP?

So the digital version of my EP is being released Tuesday, I have 3 songs almost finished BUT only room for 2 more. The track listing for the EP is as follows

    1. My Old Converse (The Judgement Song) - Fast upbeat folk song

    2. No Order - Protest Ballad

    3.???

    4.???

5.You Were My Last Reason to Stay - Pixiesesque surf style song

    6. Grandfather - Slow folk song

My options for the two tracks are

Sunday Afternoons - A poppy folk break up song

All Glory to the Anarchists - An up beat folk protest song

If Using People Was Monoply (You'd Own the Railroads) - Folk song about the end of a friendship

Based on the descriptions which 2 of the 3 tracks should I put on there?

  • What is a good, cheap 75-150 watt amp?

I need an amp that has a good clean sound (I play folk music and metal), distortion doesn't matter much because I have really nice pedals so it wont matter much for when I play with the metal band I am in, I just want a good combo amp (or if you can find a cheap half stack, that'd be better. I want to start gigging soon. So this amp needs to be a good live amp. I am trying to spend less than 300 dollars, so if you could help me find something that'd be great.

I do not want any Line 6 or crate products I have had bad experience with both.

  • Is it wrong to hold later career sins of an artist against their previous good work?

This is in reference to how...I kind of despise Against Me! and how they not only changed their style once they got signed to major label but also changed their sound and values. These moves have made me feel almost like their prior work was pandering, and disingeniousness. Should I just let this go and enjoy the Plan-It-X, Fat Wreck Chords, and No Idea stuff...or should I feel violated as a fan?

  • R&P Name a band you would love to break up to see fans reactions?

My personal favorite would probably be Green Day...because for 8 hours on twitter and Y!A it'd be non stop "Is this real"

  • What is your favorite NOFX album?

Rules, LP's only, no compilations, no splits. What is your favorite NOFX album, I will be more likely to pick you as best answer if you describe what you like about the album and how you first heard it.

Mine is Wolves In Wolves Clothing. It was the first time the band did an album in the 00s right. The Man I Killed is a good story song. Door Nails moves me emotionally, like i cried when I first heard it. 60 Percent is like a mission statement for the modern era of the band. The funny thing is I didn't like this album until about a year after I heard it.

  • Armpit hair on chicks, kinda punk rock?

I think its kind of hot and a bit punk rock if chicks don't shave their armpits. Its very feminist, and very against the system, Am I the only person who thinks like this?

  • Do you think that folk metal is going to kill Metalcore?

Starting to think I am slightly going crazy here guys. Yesterday or the day before...I don't remember, I left an answer on a question asking "Is Metalcore Just A Phase?". My answer is as follows:

"Music changes, thrash killed hair metal, nu metal killed thrash, metalcore killed nu metal. who knows maybe 5 years from now Progressive Folk Metal may kill Metalcore lol its fun to see music evolve."

I look through today's questions and I find a question asking about someone wanting to change their bands genre. They pretty much described themselves as a Metalcore band.....and they wanted to change their genre to Folk Metal.

I AM OFFICALLY DECLARING THE END AND DEATH OF METALCORE. Long live Folk Metal.

  • Folk Punk band question?

I have had an acoustic folk punk project for a while, and I am not sure weather I should stick solo or add more members. My friend Tim, wants to play harmonica and backing guitar so I might have him join the band, but I also wonder if I should recruit a drummer. What is your guy's opinion on this, should I stick it alone, or try to play shows with a full band.
