Tips for doing barred stretches?

I have been playing guitar for about 2 years now and the hardest thing for me right now is stretching for chords when I am barring. It seems no matter how hard I try I can't seem to do anything past a 3 fret stretch. This really impedes my ability to play chords like B and alot of punk and drop D barred chords. Is their any advice on how I can approve my stretch, also I have small hands so would playing a 3/4th sized guitar help any/

Umm, B is no more than 3 frets in its stretch and drop D barre chords aren't any harder than that. Just work on your stretching, it will come. Trying to switch to a smaller guitar will not improve your playing.

I taught myself, and so when songs were like 'play a barr chords' I was like o.o

Just practice the shape and stretch. If you have to, start just playing the root and 5th, then eventually build on top of that.

    I'm sorry, but that's all I've got...
