Do you think that folk metal is going to kill Metalcore?

Starting to think I am slightly going crazy here guys. Yesterday or the day before...I don't remember, I left an answer on a question asking "Is Metalcore Just A Phase?". My answer is as follows:

"Music changes, thrash killed hair metal, nu metal killed thrash, metalcore killed nu metal. who knows maybe 5 years from now Progressive Folk Metal may kill Metalcore lol its fun to see music evolve."

I look through today's questions and I find a question asking about someone wanting to change their bands genre. They pretty much described themselves as a Metalcore band.....and they wanted to change their genre to Folk Metal.

I AM OFFICALLY DECLARING THE END AND DEATH OF METALCORE. Long live Folk Metal.

    Question as an answer: Did metalcore kill Nu metal?

    Yeah, because folk metal and metalcore are just totally comparable aren't they? No subgenre is going to "kill" any subgenre. Music doesn't die, it just gets unpopular. If you really think there won't be anymore metalcore bands soon, you're in for a surpise.

    Oh, and thrash metal didn't effect hair metal at all. Grunge was actually the subgenre that caused a decline in hair metal bands.

    Most folk metal is gimmicky and sucks; folk and metal are all fine on their own. I bet most people who listen to folk metal don't even listen to real folk music and I don't see why replacing trendy metalcore with trendy folk metal would make things any better.

    There actually is good metalcore out there, but those ones will stay alive. As a whole, the genre deserves to die.

    Folk metal has been around longer than metalcore, so uh, if something kills something else, doesn't it have to come AFTER the thing it's killing?

    We get the sarcasm, we just have no sense of humor. TD cheater trolls took all the fun out of this.

    Huh? It was ALREADY buried the moment it was born. Progressive Folk metal just about TRUMPS any other subgenre - I HEREIN DECLARE THE OFFICIAL DEMISE OF ALL CORE GENRES. THE MIGHTY VIKING SHALL RULE OVER US ALL!!!

    * amen.

    Not at all man, I think it is stupid. A genre right up there with crunkcore and triphop.
