How can I get myself fired from my pharmacy tech job?

I really hate my job I don't have have the courage to quit so I am planning on getting fired. If I get fired I will be able to collect unemployment benefits until I find another position. I would like some suggestions on what I can do that will make the pharmacy director "let me go" here are some ideas I had (no stealing, no verbal assault with co-workers or patients/customers) something more passive aggressive.

Today I had to work but I just didn't show up I pulled a no show. I was thinking about taking days off coming in late 15 minutes and then pushing it to 20 minutes late every other day, maybe letting the phone ring and not picking up or letting the voicemails refills just sit there until the patients show up for pick up. Maybe not being proactive at all and doing the bare minimum to get by...Does any one else have any good ideas? I know this sounds really horrible especially with so many people looking for tech positions but this job really makes me miserable I hate waking up in the morning thinking I have to spend the next 8.5 hours in a pharmacy dealing with the mayhem. I am just not happy and I think that the best thing I can do for myself is get out now...its very frustrating when you truly hate your job not just dislike but HATE!

lol i am a pharmtech and i dont like my job really, but i am thankful for it. so instead of getting fired and not being able to get a job anywhere else. you should give your two weeks notice. or if you dont care about getting another job, you should just not show up and you automatically get fired. OR try getting a transfer from a crazy store, like i did. but dont get fired, that is the WORSE thing you could do for your resumme

I think you're doing everything right, just keep it up. Don't show up or be really late, don't answer the phone, take very long lunch breaks, that sort of thing. Maybe call in sick last minute a bunch, too. I would suggest not being rude to customers though, that seems like going a little too far... well, unless the are being really stupid or something then you have a reason to tell them to tell them off. Although, when you in an interview for another job, don't you think they'll ask why you got fired? I guess you just won't be able to use the pharmacy as a reference then.

Start looking for a new job. Where l am from, you don't get benefits if

you are fired, and most jurisdictions have this same rule. The reason is

that you were qualified for the job, you made it past the trial period, so

if you get fired, it was your choice - just like quitting - you aren't doing the

job you were hired to do.

So get your resume ready, shop around, and with the knowledge that

you will get another job, that will make your current job more livable

This is not necessarily the answer you are looking for but, if I were you I would definitely avoid being fired. It leaves a gap in your resume and then you are not able to provide that employer as a reference for your next position. If you list your current position in your resume, you are also obliged to tell your prospective employer that you were fired. You seem to be in healthcare (as am I) so you must know that references are incredibly important for "good" jobs. So with that bit of advice I put the question on you, why don't you look for another position and apply for it? You need to accept responsibility and not burden the taxpayers with unemployment costs simply because you "hate your job".

Even if you hate your job you will regret trying to get fired. Because it is real hard finding a job it's like not that easy. I know People who would be real thankful to get a job. Even if it's as a garbage man. You shoul be every thankful that you even have a job. It's not no I'm just going to get fired and find another job. NO ! It does not go like that.

Do something to make customers complain a lot, don't wear ur uniform, ask ur boss how his sex life is, genuinly ask ur boss why he is so ugly, complain how horrible ur job is to every customer, eat on the job, spill an expensive order

Be careful. Poor performance on one job can come to haunt you when asked for references for the next.

Providing poor service to clients who may urgently need a prescription is abhorrent. So is sabotaging the reputation of your employer. Shame on you!

I believe you DO NOT receive unemployment benefits if you get FIRED. Only if they laid you off, you can.
