Do you think Easter is getting too commercial, like Christmas?
Just wish people were more familiar with the story of Jesus & at least tell their children.

Yes. Just like Christmas. Now, everyone recognizes Easter as an Easter Egg hunt, or having the right Easter dress. Also, it's just like Christmas in a sense of characters. The Easter Bunny and Santa Claus. They both have nothing to do with both of their holidays.
I get up early on Easter morning and watch biblical things on television. Also, i read the bible.
Easter is a religious holiday, not trick or treat. c:

Would you rather it went the way of Pentecost or Ascension Day or Thanksgiving? Yes, Thanksgiving is more known than the other two, but it is still seriously overlooked and undervalued. Why? There's really not much money to be made from it. For Pentecost and Ascension Day, there's even less money to be made so they get no notice whatsoever.
I say we have to put up with some degree of commercialization for any holiday to be noticed, unfortunately. It's just the age and society in which we live.
The one thing you can do about it is to tell any kids you have or know what it is really all about. Look around. Shop carefully. We found the most gorgeous pastel jewel-toned cross napkins for Easter dinner. It's a cross. If you shop carefully, you can also get chocolate crosses instead of bunnies. Make sure every Easter basket you make contains at least one prominent item that tells the real story of Easter. Be sure to stock up on Easter storybooks, too! Give them out to as many children as your budget will allow.

Its called the almighty buck Annie Stores make loads of money selling chocolate.. Some kids all they recognize about this day is what they are going to get. I personally don't know what the Easter Bunny has to do with Easter. Kids should made aware of what this day is all about. Some parents will take the time to tell their children about the real meaning of Easter. Others get handed an Easter Bunny with no explanation.

I think kids love to color eggs and have the egg hunts. The little
ones have no clue what else it is about. You get dressed up go to church
with your family have a fun day. Let the little ones have fun, to be too serious
for both Christmas and Easter is taking away the JOY of the holidays.
Adults are quite aware its the time of Redemption and I am full of joy but
for my little ones a bit of chocolate and the love of their family suffices.
Happy Easter!
