I recommend that your browser is up to date and free of malware.

Make sure you have the latest Flash update at get.adobe.com/flashplayer

Test your java to make sure it is working at www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp

First thing I would try is using an alternative browser, for example if you are using internet explorer, try chrome or firefox, same thing with safari or opera.

If you are experiencing these problems in all browsers, I recommend downloading a good anti-malware program from a software company you trust.

I personally use malware bytes anti malware program from majorgeeks.com

You could also try the AVG anti malware scan at www.avg.com

Furthermore you could probably use a registry scan and clean. I recommend CCleaner from piriform.com

Yes sometimes when using Internet Explorer this can happen. When I use Hotmail, sometimes the buttons won't work and if you look in the status bar at the bottom of your browser it might display the word 'Java.' But do try updating Java, and this might resolve the problem, otherwise, try another browser, sometimes it is just a problem with one.
