Related, but not the same. Quorn is mycoprotein, and is related in the sense that it's a fungus as well.

"The main constituent of Quorn, Mycoprotein, is a naturally occurring, high quality, healthy form of protein. Quorn is produced using a fermentation process very similar to brewing; only we harvest the solid as opposed to the liquid. This remarkable ingredient is then used as the base for more than 100 different food products ranging from mince to fillets, to ready-made meals and snacks. Unlike other non-meat protein sources, such as soya bean and its derivatives, Quorn has an ability to replicate the taste and texture of meat exceptionally well."

    Daisy, apparently it's potato protein.

They are both fungus. But not all fungus are the same. There are some fungus that make you very sick. Quorn is manufactured in a big lab-like building. See link: http://www.ask.com/questions-about/How-Is-Quorn-Ma...

Some mushroom producers are suing them for trying to pretend to be mushrooms: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=990...

BTW, they used to use egg to bind the bits together, but now I think there is a vegan quorn.....wonder what chemical treatment they use instead eggs?

No! Mushrooms are food(even though I don't like them)and quorn is some manufactured nonsense with a stupid name.So they are not related at all

They are both fungus but mushrooms occur naturally, Quorn does not.

Source(s): Quorn is so yummy but it makes me violently ill. :(
