When Christians hijacked Easter, why didn't they change the name?
Why is it still named after the Germanic Pagan goddess Eostre?

Because the Christians knew that it would be easier to convert people if they allowed them to keep their traditional festivals albeit with Christian elements introduced into them.

I think you must mean when “claimed” Christians hijacked easter, as real Christians have nothing to do with pagan filled celebrations such as easter and christmas.
Going by your question you seem to be totally unaware of what's really going on here, the hole is a lot deeper then you clearly realise, and could well be why you hold your current position, I'd keep searching if a were you ;)

The Church did the hijacking of the pagan holidays. Christians are just OK with it. Some more than others.
Christianity will never be without problems and there are truths that can't be hidden, in my opinion.
Have a nice day.

Of course, this is only true in English! In French the word for Easter is 'Paques,' from the Greek name (Pascha) for the Hebrew Pascal feast (Pesah).
Note too that not all scholars believe the Germanic goddess Eostra actually existed - some think she was an invention of the Venerable Bede in the 8th century.

Really? I thought it was Ishtar -- but maybe the Germans stole Eostre from the Sumerians after all.
Personally, I'm beginning to be of the opinion we should have stuck with Passover and Firstfruits and the rest of them instead of the cheap plastic imitations.
And for the record? I don't know anyone at all who believes Jesus was born on December 25th -- not that it really matters.

This is your Holiday not ours. To Christians we call it Resurrection Day.

There is more joy in Jesus in one day.
Than there is in the World 365/24/7
I know, I tried them both.
