I love long jump and I really want to improve on it. I am going to do trials in the summer for this athletic club and I need advice on how to train for the long jump ( please do it in detail) and tips and tricks x

Hey! I answered your last question & saw you asked another question, and I couldn't figure out how to respond... So I figured here would be best lol. (btw I know nothing about long jump) anyways, I don't know much about breathing but I always think "in through your nose, out through your mouth" & by cardio, I mean getting your heart going, so maybe sprints! & you can also google cardio & some good workouts will pop up!

i do high jump....my team has an about 2 foot mat thing that we jump over to help the jump go far as well as high to get more distance...also do not pay attention to the line thing as you jump(try looking at a line of trees or something in the distance. that will also give you more height to get mare distance... i really dont know any drills other that practice hope i helped!!

Umm beforehand, count how many strides (make sure they're your running step length) it takes to get from the start to the line, and make sure you start on the right foot
Get as close to the line as possible
When you land fall FORWARDS not backwards if you have to!!! If you put your hands behind you, they'll count that instead
Walk off forwards not sideways, you're disqualifies if you go sideways!!
Hope it helps!! X :D
