Anyone have police advice/ what it's like ?

Its fun and full of action. Could be dangerous for some people.

One of the fun parts is making a 13 year old teenage punk or juveniles in general embarrised by handcuffing them and putting them in the backseat of the police car before locking them in a holding cell for a few hours. Hopefully theyll learn and never commit crimes again. If I see the same person again I tell them hey, you must enjoy getting handcuffed and given a ride in the backseat of a police car and getting embarrised and locked in a cell. This time your locked up for a 24 hours.

Then there is traffic enforcement which you look for speeders which isnt that fun

Then you have to respond to domestic violence issues (family fights) which isnt that fun but still fun as someone is usually taken to jail.

Then you have police pursuits which is fun but is also dangerous

Another fun part is a simple traffic stop can turn into a drug bust

Then you get assault calls which is isnt that fun as there isnt much action involved but still fun as you get to take someone to jail.

Then you have the drug busts and weapons busts which is fun expecially during a raid and you know that you took these guns and drugs off the streets and put some dangerous criminals behind bars.

Then you have the murder investigations which is also fun but can be emotional expecially when you have to se dead bodies and speak with victims families but the whole investigative part can be fun.

THE MOST WORST PART OF POLICE WORK is paperwork and sometimes going to court lots of times but its nice to see that you put a criminal behind bars but it sucks when you see a criminal walk free,

;♥An amazing job different tasks everyday but its very tiring you have to really want it. you cant just wake up one day and say hey i think im going to join the police academy. one mistake can cause you to lose your life or someone else also cause you to lose your case. Its a lot of work but the pay is good and its great health care for you and your family. also many end up retiring because of back problems or knee problems some end up dealing with stress and anxiety. i say really look into it and give it thought if your thinking of becoming an officer its a great job but its not just for anyone

theirs people that should call the police and theirs people that should show up to the crime...just find out which one suits you
