Who has given who authority , and who sent who? God sent God and gave himself authority?
John 5:25-30 reads (NIV), I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. 28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned. 30 By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.
Who is or whom are these verses talking about?
Thank you.

@ Planner "he would also have to make sure that his authority and power was given only to a piece of himself. " What does that MEAN?! It's nonsense. No offense but it is.
Or is it like "I'm married but only the left side of me"? ... or "A piece of me, my leg , is a mother but the rest of me is childless" This is babble!
The trinity makes nonsense of everything we know about logic and violates basic biblical teachings to boot and no amount of "religious speak" will make that not so.

Jesus was given the authority because he did not posses this authority before because he is a different and lesser individual than his father, Jehovah, and Jesus was created by his father and God and thus had a beginning.
(Matthew 9:6-8 6Â However, in order for YOU to know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins—” then he said to the paralytic: “Get up, pick up your bed, and go to your home.” 7Â And he got up and went off to his home. 8Â At the sight of this the crowds were struck with fear, and they glorified God, who gave such authority to men.
(Matthew 28:18) 18 And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: “All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth. . .
(John 17:1-3) 17 Jesus spoke these things, and, raising his eyes to heaven, he said: “Father, the hour has come; glorify your son, that your son may glorify you, 2Â according as you have given him authority over all flesh, that, as regards the whole [number] whom you have given him, he may give them everlasting life. 3Â This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.
(John 20:17) 17Â Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and YOUR Father and to my God and YOUR God.’”
(Ephesians 1:17) that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give YOU a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the accurate knowledge of him;
(Colossians 1:3) We thank God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ always when we pray for YOU,
(1 Peter 1:3) 3Â Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for according to his great mercy he gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
(Revelation 3:2) 2Â Become watchful, and strengthen the things remaining that were ready to die, for I have not found your deeds fully performed before my God.
(Revelation 3:12-14) 12 “‘The one that conquers—I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will by no means go out [from it] anymore, and I will write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which descends out of heaven from my God, and that new name of mine. 13 Let the one who has an ear hear what the spirit says to the congregations.’ 14 “And to the angel of the congregation in La·o·di·ce′a write: These are the things that the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God,
The Babylonians had not only trinities of Gods, but also of Devils. Many other ancients religions taught some form of a trinity, and modern day Hinduism is based upon a Trinity, but it is not mentioned in the Bible. Such things are prophesied by the Bible though:
(1 Timothy 4:1) 4 However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons,
This is what happened particularly from the fourth century onward.

God Jehovah gave Jesus the Son of God authority , not God the Son.
(Note God the Son is not ever mentioned in the bible ,God the Son is a figment of imagination)

when you think about it, it makes perfect sense. since God is the only one with the authority and power to judge sin or to grant life, he would have to be the one who sent Jesus and gave him authority...but since he also does not want anyone to worship or serve or follow any other God but him, he would also have to make sure that his authority and power was given only to a piece of himself.
that is what is meant by calling Jesus the son. in biblical times, it was considered normal or understood by all that a son was an extension of the father....so when Jesus is called "son" those people would understand that meant he was an extension of the Father. to us, a son is simply an offspring...because we do not have the understanding of the biblical family tie or the sort of authority a son had in biblical times.
in bible times, if the son of a man came to a person and declared a deal in his father's name, it was considered to be the exact same thing as if they were talking to the father himself.

The bible is fictional, you can't read it like a true story, it makes no sense.

Jesus is the Son of God, and is also called the Son of Man.
God the Father sent his son Jesus down to earth. God the Father gave Jesus his authority.

You have pointed out one of the many reasons why this silly religion makes absolutely no sense. It is a religion that is supposed to be accepted, thought and question are not encouraged.
