The honest answer is that we simply do not know. No scientist on Earth has ever had the opportunity to study an alien. Statistically, it's very likely that, because WE exist, other living things must exist somewhere in the universe, but we have never made contact with them.

There is no evidence that aliens (intelligent, non-terrestrial life) exist.
There is no evidence that aliens do not exist.
There is a statistical analysis that concludes this: the bigger our universe, the higher the probability that there are aliens "out there, somewhere". As the size being considered approaches infinity, then the probability approaches 100% (but it is not 100%... until you actually stumble upon an alien).
A statistical analysis is NEVER considered proof. For example, imagine that you like the number 7. However, every time you look at integers (whole numbers) you never find another number 7.
You tell yourself, Ah! But there is an infinity of numbers. Surely there MUST be another number 7 out there, somewhere...
And there is not.
What we are beginning to understand is that: IF there are aliens out there, they are very distant from us...
The Drake Equation is used to "get an idea" of how many civilizations there could be in an average galaxy (our Galaxy being taken as the average). It is simply a collection of factors, to which you assign, to the best of your knowledge, numerical values. For example, how many stars? What percentage of these stars could provide the type of energy to support life (enough heat but not too much UV rays, for example)? What percentage could have planets? What percentage of these planets could develop life? and so on.
When the equation was first developed (60-some years ago?), the results were very optimistic: maybe a hundred thousand civilizations in a galaxy.
Then, as we discovered how precarious life can be, the numbers kept going down, until a minimum was reached in the pessimistic seventies: 1/4.
Yes, one quarter per galaxy, on average. This result means that we could be alone in the Local Group (placing the next civilization at many million light-years from us).
The number has gone back up a bit. Nowadays, if you are an optimist, you could get results around a few hundred. Still, that leaves the average separation at many hundreds of light-years.
It is safe to assume that "somewhere out there" there could be other civilizations. However, it does not make sense to think that they are living among us. This is a false belief that is usually started whenever there is a science-fiction movies with aliens in it, about to be released.

We simply do not know, because there is no real proof that ETs exist or do not exist. Science does not have any beliefs, and it does not want any of them, so it is not the best idea to be telling us about your beliefs in the Science category. Science has evidence for all of the laws and theories it accepts as true, but beliefs are accepted as true without an atom of evidence, so beliefs are quite contrary to the essence of science. I Think I will wait until there is some evidence before I say anything about the existence of ETs.

Well we humans think of ourselves as the ultimate smartest beings in this never ending universe. There are others some where who think they are the smartest. What I mean is many different earth like planets are discovered and may be just may be there are beings who can walk up right or slither on they belles or perphaps even fly. So my dear friend next time you think of aliens think of this earth. Are we the only species on earth

According to Einstein nothing can move faster than light so even if they were a trillion light years away from us it will take aliens a long time to find us or us them.
But IMO there must be such a thing as aliens, I also believe its not very uncommon for life to exist in the universe.
We can hardly Analise things in our own solar system when there are millions and millions of other solar systems.
I bet just in our own galaxy there are plenty of life to discover.

nah on a serious note, i definately believe in life on another planet, and to them we humans are alien.

Not a doubt in my mind. The universe is effectively infinite in size, and contains more stars than there are grains of sand on all of the Earth's beaches. Based just on the odds, I'd say there are several million different species of extraterrestrials.

There's a pretty good chance that there is life elsewhere, but it probably won't be in the form of what most folks think of as aliens.

I believe it, yes earth is just a tiny speck in the universe so if there wernt aliens than the rest of space is useless.
