What brand of serger is reliable and sturdy?

I have had a Singer serger that spent more time in the repair shop than out and am in need of a decent overlock serger. What brand is your choice and why?

Singer was a great brand in my mother's day. Nowadays, though, it's really not reliable, as you have found out.

I don't own a serger, yet. However, I do own a Bernina Bernette sewing machine. Everyone who owns a Bernina or Bernette raves about it, so when I do decide to get a serger, I'm going to look at a Bernina. I know a few people at the local quilt shop, and that shop sells and repairs Berninas, so I'll see if they have a refurbished one. Refurbished machines are usually a bit older models, that have been traded in when someone wants the latest model. So I'll save money while still getting a quality machine.
