How to approach someone online?
Ok, so there is guy named Rob. He's a friend of one of my best friends Ben and he's really cute. Ben told me a little about him and he seems like a very sweet guy. I told him to tell him I'm interested so a few days after wards I added him on Facebook. Now comes the hard part. I can't seem to gather the courage to talk to him. I added him so I figured I should be the one to make the first move. Every time I see him online I want to click and say something but I just get really nervous cause he's super cute and might just think I'm a creep. So, my question is how do I strike up a conversation without being totally lame. I don't want to say "Hey, whats up" cause that's boring and tacky. How can I strike up a conversation and kinda be smooth? lol Thanks guys and gals!

Trust me, "Hello" is a lot less tacky than any "smooth" line you're going to think up to talk to him. Besides, typically, it's the "smooth" lines that make people think you're an idiot or a creep. Trust me, "hello" is really a lot better than you think. Boring? Maybe. But it works. If you have a few ideas for where to take the conversation if you get stuck (do you both like music? what kind? etc), it won't matter if you start the conversation in a less exciting way because it'll get better. People tend to remember how the conversation ended more than how it started, to be honest.

Get real, dude: it's not like you just go Hello...
end of conversation; I think I'll sign out, now. Nothing else to say.
Of course not. Talk about the weather, ask his fave school subject. Poke him cause you can.... whatever, but just get the ball rolling.
