What have you found to be the best breed, of cattle dogs?
Tragically lost my good cow dog. Starting over. what has been your experience. Have had heelers and a Border Collie cross. Some have been better than others. Have you ever had an English shepherd?
How dare any one put mixed cattle herd dogs, down...I have yet to own a papered dog, but they had it where it counts, not by having fancy ancestors.

Heelers, Blue Heelers, Australian Cattle Dog, what's the dif?? Snotty people annoy me. As far as I know they are a breed. At any rate my family has had 2 over the years and are natural heeler/herders. They are also great family dogs, fun to play with and excellent watch/guard dogs - they may not be big but they are tenacious.

blue heelers are all i've ever used for goats and cattle...some better than others

There's no such breed as "heeler"...adding a color doesn't change that fact.
BYBd mutts are NEVER predictable or consistent for any trait.
You're fool enough to waste time & money on some unpredictable mutt? WHO CARES???
SELECTIVE BREEDING *LOCKS IN* DESIRED TRAITS....mongrels waste all that effort.
