Quick poll.. how many think Zimmerman killed Trayvon maliciously...?
.. or was this a horrible accident because someone was carrying gun? did Trayvon back away or come forward. Should Zimmerman have stood down when told to, or did he.
Just want some opinions.
And while we are at it.. how many think that once again, the news media is doing its best to taint the jury pool.. because they want blood, or are they being fair.?
Thanks
Thank you "climber" for a clear head and a rational view!
Very well said, Nae.. very good!

This kind of thing is hard to judge. It happens all the time, but in this case the media got a hold of the story and it's become a national news impetus. Anyhow, I'm not one to judge. Having a weapon is a very cautious thing...and it's easy to want to grab at it even when you're only slightly spooked. I don't much about the boys past, so I can't be a judge of his character, but I say they need to thoroughly investigate Zimmerman's claim of a broken nose and bloodied scalp. Those factors alone would be justification to his claim, but it needs to be analyzed more thoroughly. Nonetheless, it's still a loss of life and I'm sad that someone had to die...whether in self defense or not.

The media, as usual, is stirring things up before all the facts are available. This could well be a tragedy caused by poor judgment on Z's part. It could have been avoided for sure; based on facts available.
In my opinion, the main problem is that Neighborhood watch people have no authority to approach/accost anyone. They call the police and wait. You don't pursuit the suspect, you watch and tell the cops where the suspect is. Other issues complicate this situation, there is no way we can know what Z's motivations were. But it is not up to us to judge, let the justice system deal with it and get to the truth; which the media can't do. Don't believe everything you hear on TV. Too bad we haven't gotten to the point in society where we can accept each other as equal and the same regardless of skin color, choice of lifestyle, and not assume someone is a criminal type just because they are young and wearing a hoodie...etc.
PS The media needs to be curbed! And there should be consequences for doctoring recordings etc to stir people up and start racial problems! Where's the FCC in this matter?
