Should I be paid for the stat holiday?
I was not scheduled to work the recent stat as I never work Friday's, therefore should I get paid for the stat holiday anyways? This is in Canada.

In Ontario you're entitled to a substitute paid holiday within three months of the public holiday - or, if you agree in writing, to be paid public holiday pay (i.e. time and a half) for another working day.
This assumes you are otherwise a qualified employee for the purposes of taking stat holidays and do not work in an industry to which special rules apply.
