Stomach sleepers when did you start sleeping on your side during pregnancy?

I sleep much better on my stomach, I hate sleeping on my side! I can't remember how far along I was with my first pregnancy when I had to start sleeping on my side. I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant and still able to sleep on my stomach - just wondering when this will have to stop.

You should stop as soon as you know your pregnant. Some doctors tell you it is ok as long as your comfortable, but other doctors tell you that it can be dangerous and increase the chances of a miscarriage if you sleep on your tummy.

Why would you take the chance of harming your baby? Just sleep on your side geez. My mother had to sleep sitting up while she was pregnant with me cause she had sciatica so stop being a baby and just sleep on your side.

Use a body pillow or put a pillow between your legs.

I was the same as you, i always used to sleep on my front. Although you have a bump now as the bump gets bigger you will get uncomfortable sleeping on your tummy. You say your moving in the night, your body will wake you up as it gets uncomfy. I was advised to use body pillows to help keep me on my side and I swear by it, best thing I ever brought. I was told if wouldnt harm baby sleeping on my front but it definitely doesnt have any advantages, whereas lying on your left side does. Im now 35 weeks pregnant, i felt baby move for the first time about 18 weeks. From about 15-16 weeks I was like am I feeling it or am I not but at 18 I got a definate kick.

Being pregnant is an exciting time for most women, but it can also be quite overwhelming, especially for those that are pregnant for the first time. you can sleep well on both side left or right side or on stomach after delevery. A pillow can help, all-night support for these areas, promoting proper spinal alignment and helping you get the rest you need.

I stopped around 5 months. But towards the end I didn't lay right on my stomach. I gradually worked my way onto my side. When I started getting big I'd lay in the powerpuff girl position- laying on my stomach but bending my right arm and leg so I'm proped up a little.

hi there as a doctor i should tell you the positions you should avoid

Sleeping on your back: This can cause problems with backaches, breathing, digestive system, hemorrhoids, low blood pressure and decrease in circulation to your heart and your baby. This is a result of your abdomen resting on your intestines and major blood vessels (the aorta and vena cava).

Sleeping on your stomach: When you are farther along in your pregnancy, your abdomen undergoes physical changes and makes it more difficult for you to lay on your stomach.
