How do I record Guitar and vocals seperately using laptop?
I was just wondering how this is done? I've been recording them myself playing guitar and singing at the same time and would like to start taking it more serious really, If anyone could tell me how to do this it would be much appreciated :) Also what essentials would I need to buy to do this? Thank!! :)

If you have a USB microphone of any kind, even Rock Band, check out audacity. It's really good and free. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

The way you do this will ultimately depend on which software you use, but it is pretty similar across programs. Basically, you will have to get software that will allow you to record directly from your guitar to your computer. Then, once you have that recorded you will need a microphone to record your vocals directly on top of the guitar. I really hope this helps! Feel free to shoot me an email if you have any other questions :)

Audacity is surely the best free music maker and is great for making music.
I got it for free here : http://bitly.com/1mFafTo
It's perfect even for beginners because the software is really intuitive ad easy to use but at the same time it has really advanced functions for more experienced users.
It's a program that I definitely reccomed!

Look into multi-track recording on your computer. You can use audacity, but there are much better things you can use but they aren't free like audacity. For something like this you would usually record the guitar first, then record the vocals separately. But, there are many ways to do it including recording both at the same time with headphones.
