Ways to lose weight? 14 years old..?

So, I don't need anyone going "get off the computer and go do something"...The only reasons I get on the computer is to do homework. Or to do a 30-60min online social chat. Sometimes I go longer on the weekends at night time. But anyway, I'm not on all the time on the week days. 2hrs. (Mostly doing homework) max every other day. I use to walk home but incidents started happening to where my mom cut me off from doing that. Anyway, I weight about 220-230lbs. I am 5ft 4 and 3/4..I don't need any "You need to lose weight." No, really? Why do you think I'm asking this question. And to be honest, If I told anyone I weighed that much they wouldn't believe it cause, I dress myself nicely. I have great clothes and I don't weight tight, ugly clothes. And, most of the time people focus on my face. Except for guys, they focus on my a$$..My doctors told me not to focus so much on my weight, and they know I'm obese, but I'm not in a danger zone. But I want to lose weight.

Anyway, my mom buys good foods (sometimes junk food) because she has diabetes. Moving on, and big butts are apart of the family. They run in the genes. I wear a size 16. I want to slim down to a size 8. If that's not possible, then a size 10, at least. I have a few things like "Beginners Yoga" DVD and "Billy Blanks Tae bo Kids" DVD and "Billy Blanks Tae bo"...there's also a mini gym where my mom use to work. There's two treadmills, weights, and a DVD. Also a few more machines.

So, how do I make this work? Tips, pointers, ideas, feeback. Thanks!

(What I'm looking for is a calorie diet and how much I should intake. A workout scheldule. How to start. Thanks.)

Since you are not allowed to do a lot of walking the best thing you can do is change your diet along with using the gym when you can.

I know that will be hard to change your diet because you are dependent upon what kind of foods your mother buys. Although you might be able to influence what she buys somewhat.

Basically, try to eat only foods as close to how they were grown as possible, raw or cooked. Try to avoid processed foods. Whole foods, just as they come from nature, take longer to digest, and make you feel "fuller" than processed foods. As a result, you do not need to eat as much nor as often. A side benefit is that you don't need to count calories as it is seldom possible to eat too many calories.

Although you probably already know this, avoid any foods with sugar in them, variously known as sugar, sucrose, cane sugar, evaporated cane juice, brown sugar, and so on. Those are "empty" calories just waiting to make you fatter as well as exposing you to diabetes down the road.

Corn syrup, also known as dextrose and multiple other names, is not the same as sucrose, but it is also "empty calories" with recent studies showing that it is also detrimental to your health.

Start reading labels on the food you eat. If the ingredients are a list of unpronounceable words, it is far to processed to eat without serious side effects down the road.

Start learning how to prepare and cook basic foods without adding a lot of calorie-overloaded ingredients. For example, learn how to make and bake bread based on recipes that do not use sugar nor other ingredients with empty calories. Most bread that you can buy is loaded with junk that will defeat your goals, for example sugar, corn syrup, sawdust (cellulose), and so on.

One major benefit of buying and eating whole foods is that they cost FAR less than corresponding processed foods that have no nutritional value. For example, potatoes cost a few cents per pound while potato chips cost a few DOLLARS per pound. Potatoes will not make you fat (you simply cannot eat enough of them to add fat), but potato chips can make you fat, or, in your case, defeat you in your goal of losing weight.

There is no reason that you cannot drop a few dress sizes if you change your diet and embark on a regimen of some sort at the gym. And when you can also do some walking. If you have access to a bicycle, find some friends and ride around the neighborhood.

If you live where you can plant a garden, do so, but ONLY a small garden, one where you only grow one or two items. Tending a garden gives you lots of exercise with a reward of something accomplished and maybe some food to eat. If your garden is too big, it becomes an onerous chore that you will probably abandon before you get your rewards.

You should not be losing weight for the guys but for youself. It's not healthy to lose too much weight at once either. I would suggest going on walks everyday. Try and set a specific time so you won't forget or not have time. You could also try running if you like running, it may take awhile to get used to or like it, but its a great way to stay in shape, and if you liked it you could join the track or cross country team in high school. I am not sure about your school, but at my school, its a no-cut sport so it would be a great way to excersise, lose weight and make more friends. Try and make sure you eat a balanced meal and try and cut back on desserts. Just have one cookie instead of two, and try not to eat a lot of candy if you do right now. Don't get obsessed with your weight though, set small goals, and check back every week or so. If you have a Wii Fit, this is a great way to keep track. Try and do things with your family too like go on walks or maybe play basketball or frisbee, or catch. There are a lot of sports and a lot of activities you can do. Ask your doctor too if they could give you any more advice. The doctor or a nutritionist might help you with your diet. Make sure you are drinking a lot of water- it can also fill you up, so you won't be as hungry and will eat less. Combining excersice with eating less is a great way to lose weigh. It may seem like a slow process, but it will be very rewarding in the end. It's great to hear you are taking initiative though! And i hope these tips help. I wish you the best of luck :)

Your diet should include protein, fats and carbs. Mostly protein, because it fills you up so you're less likely to eat more food. So i'll give you an outline:

Breakfast: 3 eggs, toast/ cereal and milk (watch serving sizes!!!!!!!)

Snack (if u can sneak this in at school): apple, strawberries, blueberries, a bag of chips/ pretzels.

Lunch: usually it would be whatever you get for lunch at school. If you buy lunch then i suggest

preordering a salad, and chicken for your protien, or if you pack a lunch or it's the weekend, then pack a salad, and some fruit, or a sandwich, or a baked potato. Find something healthy, and some junk food to balance it out.

Snack: Yogurt w/ fruit and granola, an apple with whipped cream or caramel sauce (as you get better at eating healthy food, you can cut out the whipped cream or caramel sauce if you so desire), etc

Dinner: I like chopping up cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, and other stuff into a frying pan and mixing it with teriyaki sauce (idk how to spell that and spell check isn't helping!!), or you could go with what you do for lunch, with a salad and throw on some kind of meat. I like seafood, but some people don't like it, but fish and shrimp are good sources of protein.

One more thing: eat btw 1200-1400 calories in a day, but if you binge, don't beat yourself up about it.

For exercise, there's a workout online that i like, except that it sort of works your arms a lot, and i'd rather have a whole body workout. I also got the supreme 90 day workout video set and i do HIIT with the workouts on the system every other day, because i've read it's very effective to do that (HIIT stand for High intensity interval training).

Sorry it's so long, but i have a tendency to do that. and if you need a buddy, u can email me or fb me, to make it kind of a social thing. oliviasny@yahoo.com hope i helped ya!!!!
