Is it normal to find socializing annoying?
I'm not a very social person, but I try to be more social. The thing is I don't really want to socialize that much. I'm naturally more comfortable being alone and doing what I want to do instead of talking to people. The thing is it feels like there's something in my brain, a socializing instinct, that's forcing me to talk to people. It's like I have an ingrained need to socialize that causes me to feel incredibly lonely and depressed if I don't, yet I don't really want to. Does that make sense? I have to socialize against my will or else I feel lonely. Is this normal? Does anyone else feel this way?

Wow. This is kind of creepy, because everything you just said describes my personality. I don't like being around people, but I feel social pressure to interact with others although I would much prefer to be by myself. Like you said, I feel lonely if I don't talk to people despite the fact that I don't even want to! It's almost like I want to have relationships with people but I don't want to actually speak to them, haha.
I don't know if we're strange or whatever, but I just wanted to let you know that I feel the EXACT way you do. You're not alone :)

Sure, I think it's normal, I'm that way. I like to be alone a lot, but know that I should be social once in a while.

Approximately 50% of the population are predominantly introverted. In other words, they prefer to be alone, but we all have to socialise at times, so one may as well get used to it. If you can at least have some fun doing it, it is not that bad. Extroverts love socialising, and find it hard to be alone, and that can be a pain in the butt too.

I feel the exact same way but I suppose its human nature because everyone else now and before us was so social
