Why does everyone give Obama so much credit for eliminating Bin Laden?

All he did was give permission to kill him. All the intelligence gathering plans and people were in place before Bush left office. All they did was continue to follow the Bush plans and when they confirmed where he was, they asked Obama can we kill him, and he said yes. That was extent of his involvement. Some people act like he masterminded the whole thing. It's the same with giving him credit for ending the war in Iraq. All he did was follow the plan and schedule that Bush and his military staff had already put in place.

You're probably right about this. I think that people were just upset that Bush wasn't able to locate and capture/kill Bin Laden during his own term, nor was he able to get our soldiers out of Iraq. Not to mention the conspiracy theories that had been circulating around Bush and his administration. I think people give Obama credit because they don't believe these things and other changes would have happened had we re-elected another republican candidate.

Because he took a tough decision . Fortunately it was a success. Well done the President and the forces that carried out the operation !

same reason everyone credits him for every single bad thing that happens in society. If you're going to place all the blame on Obama for everything, you can pick and choose only the bad stuff.

No, because Bin Laden was a good Republican!

Because they are ignorant. The whole thing was obviously a lie but people are sooooo mind controlled that they can't even tell the difference.

That's B.S. It wasn't until August 2010 that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency located a compound in Abbottabad in Pakistan and identified it as the likely location of bin Laden. Besides wasn't it Bush that said Bin Ladin wasn't a priority?Pfft!

It was fixed, and those on the front line that knew that were 'tidied away', the Amtruth strikes again.

Because unlike George W. Bush, Obama told the intelligence community and military that finding Bin Laden was their #1 priority.

Meanwhile Bush publicly announced he no longer cared about Bin Laden, and had told the intelligence agencies as much. Instead, he told them their top priority was finding justifications for going to war with Iraq. When they couldn't find any, he told them to make it up.

Obama is the one who took on the risk of allowing US forces to operate clandestinely in Pakistan to get Osama. This was technically an act of war. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we did it, but it took serious guts and leadership to weigh the outcomes and make the decision. If it had failed, it's not the Navy SEALS or Bush who would've be blamed, it would've been Obama.

Yes, it was the military, but if everything was ready to go under Bush, then why didn't it happen?

oh, you're referring to the Iraq war Bush started without evidence and without the money that now has us mired in economic woes, the same war that was fought for no reason that cost a few thousand good men and women's lives? Yes, thank you, Mr. Bush.
