  • What do you think of Texas refunding planned parenthood?

After cutting funds to planned parenthood, Texas has experienced a spike of unplanned births and is now in danger of losing more money than they saved. Politicians are now considering re-funding planned parenthood to counter this. Thoughts?

  • Where are all the free speech supporters?

Lots of people turned out to show their support of freedom of speech when chick filet exercised their right to voice their opinion. However, another organization is now under threat of losing their voice forever. Recently, congress passed restrictions on protesting at military funerals. This is a blatantly unconstitutional move targeting the westboro baptist church.

What happened to all the freedom of speech supporters? Why is it so terrible when a restaurant that uses its profits to fund radical anti-gay organizations is boycotted but when the government stamps out free speech for the WBC nobody cares?

  • What do you think of the 2012 Texas GOP platform?

I took a look at it and I really don't like a lot of the items they have listed. In my opinion, The GOP platform is a bad thing for the state and the country. The items i've listed have no clear benefits for citizens, or are just terribly regressive and based on rhetoric rather than knowledge. I welcome comments from people who believe the platform is a good one.

    1. "We oppose sale and use of the dangerous 'Morning After Pill.'"

for clarification, the morning after pill is actually quite safe and contrary to some loudly stated opinions, it does not actually cause abortion. What it actually does, is it delays the release of the egg so that sperm never have the chance to fertilize it. Of course, this means that it is ineffective if the egg has already been released, which is why you hear stories about people getting pregnant while on birth control. Here is an article:

    http://health.howstuffworks.com/sexual-health/cont...

The gop is either misinformed, or willfully ignorant as to how different forms of BC operates.

    2. : "We urge that the Voter Rights Act of 1965 codified and updated in 1973 be repealed and not reauthorized."

The voter rights act attempts to prohibit practices that attempt to disenfranchise target groups of people. Things like poll taxes that not everyone could pay in the 60s. Or literacy tests, at a time when illiteracy was much higher among certain demographics. Repealing this law would allow the government to set up any kind of ridiculous prerequisite they want in order to discourage or prevent a group of people from voting.

    3. "We believe in the sanctity of marriage and that the integrity of this institution should be protected at all levels of government. We urge the Legislature to rescind no-fault divorce laws. We support Covenant Marriage."

    4. "We unequivocally oppose the United States Senate’s ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child."

    5. "We support eliminating bureaucratic prohibitions on corporal discipline and home schooling in foster homes. We recommend that local school boards and classroom teachers be given more authority to deal with disciplinary problems. Corporal punishment is effective and legal in Texas… We oppose actions of social agencies to classify traditional methods of discipline, including corporal punishment, as child abuse."

    6. "We support the withdrawal of the United States from the United Nations and the removal of U.N. headquarters from U.S. soil."

    7. "Our policy is based on God's biblical promise to bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel and we further invite other nations and organizations to enjoy the benefits of that promise."

    8. "We believe the Minimum Wage Law should be repealed."

    9. "We urge Congress to repeal government sponsored programs that deal with early childhood development."

    10. "We believe the current teaching of a multicultural curriculum is divisive. We favor strengthening our common American identity and loyalty instead of political correctness that nurtures alienation among racial and ethnic groups."

    and finally:

    11. "We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that. have the purpose of challenging the student's fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority."

In what way does the absence of critical thinking amongst our citizens improve society? Why are the people in texas so anti-intellectual? All this will do is create a generation of kids who can't think for themselves, allowing those in charge to do all the thinking for them.

Here is the full platform: There are some good ideas as well but I think the bad really outweighs the good.

  • looking for a chocolate fountain?

I am looking for a chocolate fondue fountain. Not just any fountain mind you, I am looking for a fountain shaped like a butt where the chocolate runs down the crack and in to a trough. I haven't been able to find anything like this on google.

  • should Lowe's remove their advertising from cake boss's time slot?

I feel that cake boss is propaganda that only portrays the positive side of cake. There are a lot of controversial issues with cake that they seem to ignore such as high cholesterol, calories, and sugar. All of which contribute to the obesity epidemic. Cake boss is clearly nothing more than lies created to downplay the very real threat that pastries present to American values.

  • Gastrointestinal blast cannon?

Hey everyone. I just wanted to know a few things: Firstly, what sort of system would be most effective at firing a projectile out of the anal cavity? What would offer the most power and under what conditions would the GI tract be most suited for such a task?

Secondly, if said projectile were a turd: What is the optimum consistency, size, and weight for maximum velocity and distance? What if I wanted it to maintain a sticky, splatter effect upon impact?

    Thanks!

  • why can't I say "*****" in the dog section?

*****, being a technical term amongst dog breeders, should not be filtered. What If I need to say *****? I notice that I can say "bitches" but I can't say *****. I shouldn't be forced to always use the plural form of "*****" whenever I need to say "*****" even when i'm only referring to a singular *****.

  • I'm confused here, can someone clear this up?

Ok, I get that there are people who don't like feminism. But every time I try to suggest that all tools of this evil institution be rooted out from our society I am greeted with disapproval. I see women who say they think feminism is "wrong" yet refuse to give up their right to vote, hold office, and other rights that have been obtained by the very organization that they claim to hate.

So whats the deal here, do you hate feminism or not? Don't just pick some feminist ideals and not others, if you don't like feminism then you need to give up everything that feminism has fought for since its inception.

  • About the mass deaths in birds?

I noticed that there was also an article about how the earth's magnetic pole shifted, which caused a screwup at an airport in Tampa. Don't a lot of species of birds use the earth's magnetic field as their means of navigation? Why hasn't anyone pointed this out yet?

  • tell me about this monster (followup)?

I asked this the other day:

"I heard of a creature so vicious that few dare speak of it. From what i've been told it has a disposition that is a hundred times more volatile than either a werewolf or a vampire and is far more vicious as well. This demonic entity awakens for about 3 to 4 days every month and spews forth blood from its vertically aligned mouth as it wreaks a path of destruction. To look upon it is shocking and to listen to its howl is to know true fear.

I was never told the name of the creature because apparently, to utter its name is to bring down its wrath upon you.

this can't possibly be true can it? It sounds terrifying, does anyone know more about it that they can tell me?"

I got a few replies telling me that there is no such thing, that if it existed we would have heard about it, all the standard stuff you'd expect from skeptics. I'd like to re-air this question in the hopes that someone can tell me something about this creature described above.

I don't need skeptics telling me it doesn't exist because I know it is real.
