Where are all the free speech supporters?

Question

Lots of people turned out to show their support of freedom of speech when chick filet exercised their right to voice their opinion. However, another organization is now under threat of losing their voice forever. Recently, congress passed restrictions on protesting at military funerals. This is a blatantly unconstitutional move targeting the westboro baptist church.

 What happened to all the freedom of speech supporters? Why is it so terrible when a restaurant that uses its profits to fund radical anti-gay organizations is boycotted but when the government stamps out free speech for the WBC nobody cares?

I'm gay and have no issues with Chick-fil-A. As I see it they are one establishment out of dozens of huge corporations that support equal rights, regardless of a book written by old men in a desert 3,000 years ago. By stifling their rights makes us no better. 

As for Westboro, the government has not stamped out their freedom of speech. They are simply not allowed to make their peurile rants near funerals.

Chick fil A has not been banned from any city.
And that whole thing was NOT a first amendment issue.

Congress has passed no such restrictions.

HR 961, the "Safe Haven for Heroes Act" has been sitting in committee since March, 2011.
S 815, the "Sanctity of Eternal Rest for Veterans Act" has been sitting in committee since June 2011.

The US Supreme Court has ruled that the first amendment does allow restrictions on the time, place, and manner of free speech expressions.

Do some damn research BEFORE you shoot off your mouth.

Oh we care all right, you can abuse a right too, and they do.
To chant that servicemen are going to hell at their funerals is two notches lower than pond scum.

And its for the same reason,those disgusting people, wrapping themselves in the Bible, do it because the military doesn't despise gays.  It wouldn't surprise me if some of those maniacs get their anti-gay funds from Chick-fil-a.

If a wife or mother can't be allowed to mourn the death of her child in the service of their country in peace and dignity than we didn't deserve to have that child fight for us.

Screw them, where's the NRA when you need them?

I support the boycott of Chick -fil-A, although I think it was unconstitutional to ban it from a city.  I also think that people who protest at a military funeral are seriously messed up, but I don't think they can be banned from doing it.
