Religion is the primary cause of all global issues?

You know I'm right. Everything comes down to religion; it divides people, it controls people and it kills people. Could you imagine a world without any religion? Everything would be so much better. Please, share your views whether you agree or disagree with me...

Wouldn't change anything. A world without religion people would still be people. Atheists have been proven to do the same things as religious extremists. It's human nature that is the problem. Mainly our main problem is that we are ourselves.

It would be for the worse. Humans have proven constantly that they hate logic, and even if they throw religion in the bin, they'll just follow some other man-made dogma like nationalism or racial supremacy.

Divides, controls, kills,? So let me ask you a question, Truth does it exist? Yes or no. And if it does exist is it a positive thing or a negative thing? Is there such a thing as truth?

I guess by now your getting the gist that I don't agree with you. No, I don't agree that truth is a negative thing. In my opinion your barking on the wrong tree. Yes the world has a lot of problems, but goodness and truth is not to blame. There's a lot of problems in the world, have you ever thougth that evil might be the reason.

think a little more, things aren't as simple as they want you to believe.

Religions aren't the problem; people are the problem. Specifically people who like to use their ideologies as an excuse to be violent and aggressive to others. Trust me; if you could invent a ray gun to wipe out all concept of religion from the people of the planet it would take less than three seconds for the ideology abusers to come up with some other reason to be violent and aggressive to their fellow man. Eye colour, hair colour, which school they went to, the shape of their nose... we've been there before in every case. Haters are haters in all contexts.

Come to think of it, it would also be interesting if you could name one conflict which occurred between two rival religions on the basis of religion only. Northern Ireland was political and so doesn't count.

Without religion we would all still be in the dark ages. No learning no knowledge just darkness. We would not be able to talk we would live as the other animals by Instinct. no laws no nothing. Why? Because God gave knowledge of these things to Adam and Adam taught his posterity. For one thing man would not be here without God nor would anything else? We are living under God plan and his law. Man could not Evolve from nothing to something he would always be nothing. No this world without a God and a belief in him would be nothing. Look at the people in places that have no belief system? they just barely survive.

How do you plan to get rid of religious people who refuse to give up religion? dispose of them in a mechanical way? what do you plan to replace with religion.... it's all very problematic in practice, and to think that getting rid of religion would make this some sort of peaceful utopia is utter poppycock.

I'm not sure if it's the primary cause, but it is definitely a major contributing factor. The desire for power is another. Religion lead to the 9/11 attacks, causes women to be killed in Middle Eastern countries, and obviously causes people to cast judgment and hatred on homosexuals and people who are different from them and their beliefs. 9/11 and the Crusades are a strong example of religion causing awful things to happen. The world would most definitely be a better place without religion.
