    There are electricians who visit this site.

    Troubleshooting fills more volumes than the NEC.

    If you have a specific problem, describe it in objective detail.

    Your question is not very specific but as a general rule.. In power circuits measure across the power source for your voltage potential. In control circuits use ground as a reference to your voltage potential.
