How can I get radio AM?

I can get FM radio. I can't get radio AM. Radio AM comes in with a lot of static. How can I get radio AM without spending lots of money?

Well... you probably are in a location that
A. Is too far away from AM transmitters to receive a clear AM signal
B. Suffers because of Electrical noise

What you can do is put the radio near a window, see if that helps, get a stronger receiver (ie: Grundig radio), add a loop antenna

Overall, AM should be easier to receive if you live far away from the location of radio stations you want to receive
