Information Technology A.A.S?

I'm contemplating a career change and going back to school to pursue a degree in Information Technology. With an emphasis on Internet and Web Development. I was surprised to hear that there is demand for .Net Developers on Career Builders youtube channel. What do you guys think?

For what it's worth, I'd avoid .net development. First, not to be offensive, but most .net developers are morons. I say this having worked with way too many of them. Second, .net is much less flexible than other programming and scripting languages. I'd say focus on Java, Javascript, Python, Perl, CGI, PHP, Ruby, maybe some Xul, SQL, and other platform-independent languages. Look into some CMS or related technology, like Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress or even Moodle. When it comes to computing, flexibility is key. You have to stay on top of things and move with the trends, and Microsoft technologies are too restrictive. Don't lock yourself into them.
