faux fur blanket smells bad, please help!?
I recently purchased a faux fur blanket.
I opened up the bag and pulled out the faux fur blanket- its soft and amazing but wow- it has a strong horrible smell. I was researching a bit online and people have said that since its faux fur it will have a strong smell but they did not provide any help on how to get rid of the smell. I can't wash the blanket because its dry clean only. Is there a spray I can use? or something quick?
I have tried air drying cycle in the dryer for about 30 minutes and it still smells very strong.
Any help? I would be very grateful.

any idea of the source of the smell?
You could try airing it in the sun for 6 to 8 hours. That might freshen it up if the faux fur has any wool in it that is causing the smell.
You could try spraying it down with Vital-Oxide or OdRx. Both are chlorine dioxide based and will get rid of most smells.
Don't Febreeze, it just covers up smells and the fragrance itself can be a respiratory irritant.

even if you washed it and put fleecy or something on it, it will still smell when you dry it, drying it in the dryer brings out a funny smell too. I would get some extra strength Febreeze and spray it down good.
