Links with % cause program crashes--why?
To note, this does not happen in any webbrowser! Only other programs.
Now the problem -- Every time I click on a URL with a % sign in it, that program will crash. Other URLs work fine and pull up Chrome properly, but a % sign will cause the program to instantly lock up.
This happens in: Skype, Brosix, and Trillian and possible one or two others I'm not remembering.
So... what gives? What would cause this and why? Will reformating my computer fix the issue?
To note, I'm running windows 7 and my main webbrowser is Chrome.
I've already tried reinstalling almost off of the programs in question c_c and it'd be very strange if there was an issue with ALL three programs that manifested itself in the EXACT SAME WAY for all three of them..

Probably chrome is causing the crashes. It didn't like my mom's windows 7 much either. Try Firefox or Safari. Otherwise you have a corrupt file lying around somewhere and it's causing some trouble. Try reinstalling chrome. It could be in your system files, so in that case you'd be looking at reinstalling your OS.
Or I could be talking a load of BS and it could be something completely different. Try reinstalling all of the offending programs.
