Is anyone else sad that football is gone forever?
The NFL is now saying that very soon the kickoff will no longer be a part of the game of football. That will eventually filter down to all levels.... college, high school, etc. This comes after an increase in penalties to where it is rare that a single play occurs with no penalty. Add to that the fact that no one can hit another player and you have a "game" that sure doesn't resemble the game of football that I grew up loving.
I just realized today that our game was gone and I wondered if anyone else was sad about it.

I played in HS in the late 90s. While the game is certainly different, I think the rule changes are being made for the right reasons. I don't think the dangers in high school were nearly what the pros face, and so stricter rules on hits seems appropriate. I'd rather not root for a bunch of guys who are out to injury, maim or kill someone.
