Is calling someone "love" the same as saying "i love you?"?
My boyfriend always replies to "good night love" with "good night, love you too" ???? Surely when you call someone "love" it is entirely different to saying "i love you?"

Yes, they are different, but not as much as you might think. It almost always means that the person saying it is expressing love, but it isn't always romantic love.

No its not the same. If he said 'Good night, love you' then yes but just using the word love alone like that is like using the word darling or sugar.

No. The lady at the corner shop calls me 'love', I don't think she's in love with me... But perhaps he is saying "love to you to".

Old people, Newfies, and Euros do that. Love, dear, hun, etc.

Yeah. It's like.. "babe" or "hun" or "sweety"..
So basically you're saying.. "good night [insert nickname here]" and he says "good night, love you too".

Different. It's a UK thing, a friend of mine is from there, and he calls almost all girls "Love". Lol, even girls I know he has negative feelings toward.
